The Art of Elysium Gala Red Carpet
Darlings, it was The Art of Elysium 5th Annual “Heaven” Black Tie Charity Gala! The problem with Black Tie Charity Galas is that everyone’s pretty much on their best behavior, which means this is going to be a boring post if you’re here looking for bitchy opinions. But hey, a little positivity never hurt anyone, right?
Hit it, charity-minded celebs:
Very pretty. There’s some awkwardness with the top around the waistline, making it look a little shoved in, but we love this dress.
Amber Heard in Donna Karan
Drop dead gorgeous.
Great color; perhaps a bit too many elements.
Brittany Snow in Catherine Deane
A beautiful dress that’s way too long on her.
This gal’s got some bad instincts. She seems to default to Big Dresses that make her look bigger.
Camilla Belle in Carolina Herrera
Gorgeous, but again, it might be just a tad too complicated with one too many elements.
Jamie King in Valentino
She RUINED this gorgeous dress with that hairstyle. Absolutely ruined the look. The shoes look wrong too.
January Jones in Chanel
Cute dress; awful shoes.
Jennifer Morrison in Kaufmanfranco
Simple, but she looks great.
Julianne Hough in Kaufmanfranco
She’s still styled too old for her age, but she looks great.
Kelly Osbourne in Guishem
Y’know, we like Kelly and we like that she takes risks, but we’ve seen too many questionable choices from her to take her too seriously as a red carpet critic. This looks like a ball gown for a priest.
Kirsten Dunst in Valentino
Minka Kelly in Oscar de la Renta
We’re already a little over yellow, but we’ll take it over all the nudes and blushes and other euphemisms for the color of Silly Putty.
Molly Sims in Marchesa
It’s the “I’m not fat; I’m pregnant” red carpet pose. This is maybe a bit much for maternity wear, but she can pull it off. We just wish she hadn’t done up her hair that way. The dress is precious enough without precious hair.
Rachel Bilson in Chanel
It’s just all right. No great shakes.
Rashida Jones in Peter Som
Striking. Not sure about that band of black right at her waist and hips, but she turns heads.
Rose McGowan in Temperley London
It’s a bit too “Aphrodite” for our tastes, but the gal sure knows how to wear a white gown without looking bridal. It’s a talent.
