Well, now that his penis is trending on the twitter (thanks to George Clooney), why not check in on T Lo’s favorite underwear-eschewer in a smoldering Interview editorial?

The pictures (and certainly the styling) aren’t all that revolutionary or eye-catching, but the man surely does give some primo face.

It helps that he’s genuinely talented. If he weren’t, I’d be similarly bored (well, no, because “rakish white male” with dark hair and blue eyes is SO my type, but I would still get the boredom), but he’s also an incredibly powerful and subtle actor who is frequently the best part of the movies he’s in (and he doesn’t often choose easy movies). He absolutely deserves the acclaim he’s been getting this year.

But I’m with you on the smoking. It’s no coincidence that my favorite two shots here are the ones without cigarettes.

I was watching a Poirot episode today, and there he was: unexpected Michael Fassbender in period costume. There was even a fairly smokin’ sex scene with incredibly hot, sort-of-naked Michael Fassbender. I suspect the director added that to take advantage of the gorgeousness.

As in Agatha Christie’s Poirot? If so, then yeah, I suspect that was directorial license. I don’t remember any torrid sex scenes in St. Mary Mead, and perhaps more to the point, Agatha Christie and the concept of sex just don’t mix.

Yep! It was brief and flashbacky but intense. Ms. Christie referred to infidelity (or in this case scandalous and inappropriate hooking-up), but she didn’t tend to write in the flashback scenes.

I like some of these, but his facial hair is at a weird place in between stubble and actual beard. Use your trimmer, Michael. Take your mouse away from the “Brightness/Contrast” tool, photo editors.

I am completely fine with the cigarette. Being someone who grew up with teachers and parents deploring the glamourizing of smoking, I now know that “cigarettes are cool” only appears in period tv and films (aka mad men and good night and good luck in which it really does look cool) and then print ads like this which sort of have an ambiguous nostalgia. We are educated viewers, we know this is a constructed situation and we are smarter than to think that some hot dude smoking makes smoking something that we should want to do.

You must be blissfully free of any duty to see comic book related movies with pre-teen sons. Although, Fassbinder is gorgeous to look at in the X-Men movie. Don’t ask which one – they blur together – but, in it he is tortured by a Nazi Fiend (played by, of all people, Kevin Bacon) and finally gets his revenge on same.
