Justin Bieber featured in the ‘Spring 2012′ issue of V Magazine photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Nicola Formichetti.

But hey, we’ll be whores just to get a ton of hits from pre-teen girls, we make no bones about that.

So, how about that facial expression, hunh? Only one he has, apparently. Either that or they shot him once and just pasted the head on some other androgyteen’s body. The theme is apparently “Put things on Justin’s head. Also: hilarious clothes.” It’s good that they include the names of everything he’s wearing, so we can all go out and get those metallic pants for ourselves. They really should have considered including the brand of lip gloss he’s sporting as well as the name of his brow waxer.

And yes, we just called ourselves “whores” in a post designed to attract pre-teen girls to the site. Welcome, young ladies! Your education begins… NOW.

Why does he so look like a girl? What is it about his face that is so femine? I’ve been trying to figure it out for a while now (not with every waking moment, no, but whenever I spot him, like idling wondering in line at the grocery looking at the tabs). Is it the lips? The soft chin line? What? This is the girliest boy ever. I mean Shuan Cassidy was soft and cuddly, but he was still obviously a man. Leif Garret – still obviously a boy.   A lot of actors have big pretty eyes and full lips (younger Jensen Ackles, even younger Montgomery Clift) but their face are not so “done up” with make up.

At this point in his career he has stayed out of trouble, apparently is not using drugs or alcohol, doesn’t seem to be fighting in bars or driving like a maniac, so I put him in the same category as Taylor Swift: somewhere between dull and yucky in terms of talent and style, but a major star in terms of setting a good example for his young fans. In a way I kind of enjoy the one where he’s wearing the leafy crown. Maybe it’s meant to approximate a laurel wreath but to me it looks feminine. I think JB has always had an andro quality and this could be a sign of him embracing it. I’d like to see him own the gender fuck as he ages. He’s going to have to transform at some time in order to stay in the spotlight and frankly we could use more genderqueer people where others can see.

He is incredibly young. I’ll forgive a lot. I actually like the picture with the crown on an artistic level, rather Apollonian. I think he’s actually going to stick around, and I’m ok with that. It will be interesting to see where maturity takes his music.

I also like his expression with the helmet: “Guys? Why are you making me wear a helmet?” Yes, I see variances. No, I don’t think such a limited range is a good thing for a model.
