Florence Welch in Chanel
Something occurred to us with these pictures; something we’re actually a little surprised about. We have an opinion about Flo’s style and it’s not the opinion you’d think we’d have.

And here it is: She needs to take some time away from the Chanel and the Dior. At first we were all for it, because she had a face for couture and we love a pop singer with a fantastic sense of style. But she’s young and like we said, she has a face on her. She shouldn’t be so locked into these grandiose clothes all the time. She’s in a department store here, after all. It’s not like she’s attending a dinner in honor of Uncle Karl or something. And even if you ignore the question of appropriateness for the setting, we still think this looks heavy and dreary on her. It’s time for her to dial it back a little and try quirkier, smaller designers and develop a style that isn’t quite so Grande Dame.
