Amanda Seyfried goes the big-hair-and-heavy-makeup route for W Korea.

The clothes look great, but that makeup seems a bit too much for her features. We’re all for a big-eyed gal rocking some dramatic eye makeup, but that covershot and second picture make her look like she’s got facial bruising. Is it us? Isn’t she, like we said about Mia Wasikowska the other day, better suited to the clean looks, because she’s got a face out of an old painting? She’s more “Girl with a Pearl Earring” than “Goldie Hawn on Laugh-In,” right?

Love the hair and clothes, though.

  I thought so too. And that is not a good comparison. That lipstick in the firs two shots is awful. That’s probably why I like the third picture the best–they gave her some lipstick that wasn’t that weird shade of porn star white/pink.

She has big beautiful eyes, but they’re hooded – prominent brow bone. Not suited to dramatic smokey eyes and all that.

Having rather enormous eyes myself, I can tell you that it’s not the AMOUNT of make-up that’s the problem. I do heavy eye make-up regularly for dress occasions, and I never look like I have bruises. It’s the particular shades and application here.

Too much bronzer on her cheeks – with a facial structure like that she really doesn’t need it. I do love the red lip on her though!

When you have big lips AND big eyes, choose one or the other to play up. But for the love of God, DON’T let the makeup artist erase your lips with foundation.

Love the red lip on her. But she looks…off. I’m not sure how to describe it, but I don’t think they used the correct makeup for her coloring.

Totally agree. These pics are fine but they don’t show Amanda at her best. She is so lovely – I just feel like the make-up gets in the way. And I love the Vuitton but hate the Chanel. Come on…if someone sent that down the runway on PR we would rip them apart 17 different ways. She’s got a rug covering her rug.

What is going on with the scraggly hair all over the crotch area? Who in the world thought that was high fashion? Is it a bad joke? the first LV dress looks like bad home sewing. What were they going for? An unfitted a-line dress? It reeks of home ec projects, and I am not talking about the top of the grading curve. That is high fashion?

The second has the scraggly hair on the crotch issue, with more of it up and down the back. This is good? At first I thought that the designer should tell all of us what he was going for with this dress. After a moment’s reflection, I can see what he was going for, and I think the designer needs to spend some time with a mental health professional to work out some strange issues. That poor girl. Thank goodness they tried to do a shot of the second dress where the crotch hair was not so obvious. I hope she was paid a lot of money, and thank goodness W Korea probably has limited circulation.

Who cares about her face? There is too much strange stuff going on to even notice her face.

That LV on the cover is incredible. I mean, not the shape, which is a space cocoon, but the textile/material/whatever it is is incredibly three-dimensional without looking crafty.

The make-up on the cover and in the first photo is just atrocious. She looks like she’s just undergone failed plastic surgery. A shame, because she’s a really pretty gal who’s taken some great photos in the past.

I love her makeup in the 3rd picture–she has the kind of features (huge eyes and lips) that are put in a cartoon or on a Bratz doll as the epitome of beauty, but no one in real life (except her) actually has. In the third picture her face looks like Jessica Rabbit’s.

I am very fond of her looks because, to me, she is beautiful in a way that lets you see (or to imagine that you can see) through the beautiful to a former ugly duckling phase.

In other words, she’s not cookie-cutter.

That said, I’m not enthused about her makeup, here, but I don’t know enough about makeup to say why. I don’t love either the pale pink lip (though I otherwise like the 2nd photo) or the intense red lip.

Clothes are nice. I want to see her in dark silk kimonos, kind of decadent, ’20s or ’30s style, though. Or even as the exotic femme fatale from a silent film.
