I don’t know that I agree with you on Jude.  I don’t really like the pants with that jacket. The stripe is throwing me off.  And I don’t mind navy with black, but navy with black with charcoal and…whatever color that stripe is isn’t working for me here.  I also hate the hat.  Fine with jeans and a sweater, probably, but not a suit.

Robert…I so love him.  He looks crazy, but at least it fits with his image.  Clown-y type of guy.  Not saying it looks good, but it does fit his image.

You like the stripes on Jude Law’s trousers??  Our road has hit a fork…

Jude Law is wearing stupid pants and a stupid hat thing. Robert Downey Jr. is wearing stupid shoes. I like his hair though. They have both looked better.

I’m in agreement with the combined score, but I’d mark D-J higher and Law way lower. “A little on the douchey side”? I’d say doucheville centre.

Jude Law’s hat is awful. And I don’t understand the tight stripey pants. He just needs to take those off—now.

Jude Law is a little douchey and that hat doesn’t help. I dislike him enough to give him a 4. I hate those striped pants. He looks like he’s wearing a track suit with a sport coat.

I consider the hat a stylish way to hide his thinning hairline.  Jude hasn’t looked that sexy in years.

Not a fan of the stripe down the side of his pants, but otherwise well done for Law.

Glad we share the same distaste for this “man-child” business (and thanks to you we have a name for it). How can guys dressing like this think they look good? Downey looks marginally better than those guys who brought us that horrific “Rain Over Me” song and video. At least the pants on this guy fit better (key word here) than on those two doofuses.

Well, this clearly proves that I have no fashion sense if Jude Law gets a 9/10 with those pants.

And that hat.

Is it just me, or do RDJ’s shoes look like the kind that are actually high heels hidden in sneakers (or Timberlands in Tom Cruise’s case)? 

I’m fine with Jude’s hat. It’s his pants (and cheating) I can’t stand. Really, RDJ? You really can’t stand to fully grow up? You’ve got a baby on the way. You don’t get to be the child any more. Buck up or there’ll be a relapse headed your way for sure.

See, I actually like RDJ’s look, at least when he keeps his jacket button done, whereas Jude Law’s pants kill me a little, inside. If he put on less douchey trousers I could probably get behind the rest of his look, though.

Really? I actually think Downey looks ok, though his tie needs tightening and his pants need hemming. But Law? He looks, as you said, douchey with the hat and those look like running pants with that light stripe down the side… Not a fan of his look at all.

The hat’s not the only douchey part of that outfit. You kids lack consistency. You just got done hating on someone with striped Star Trek pants, and now you love them? No issue with Downey rating, but Law’s entire look screams Toolbag. 2/10. Two points for managing to fit his jacket well.

Jude Law looks pathetic! None of the pieces remotely match in color or style. The collar is starched, but that’s about the only thing that’s working in that lame get-up.

Robert Downey Jr has his own style and should be graded on those terms. If you give allowances for Russell Brand, why don’t RDJ?  At least his outfit is a coordinated ensemble, unless his unfortunate co-star.

Jude: 2/10

NINE POINTS?!?

First – you guys SLAMMED K.Lutz for a douche-y hat like that (and he wasn’t even on a red carpet).
Second – Navy Blue jacket with black pants.
And Third – I swear I just donated that pair of Under Armour warm-up pants this afternoon.

That hat is a ‘little’ douchey?  Oh please, it ruins the whole thing. It was like he saw Downey and decided he needed to compete for class clown!

you like that? even i dont like that. not that i dont hate everything, which is true, but i do usually give points for someone doing something interesting. which this tilts at & fails pretty much entirely.

i thought you were gonna score it the other way round, even though sneakers & suits shouldve gone aways away w/ woody allen the first time, i dunno, a million years ago, pre-pleistocene when i didnt really have much of an idea of what a red carpet was, if any. once was a statement, ten million billion zillion times even done by this guy’s father’s kid–oh, enough already. at least make em pink. or something.

Ok, you guys have to a bit nicer to Jude.  You can’t fault a man who is FREAKIN BALDING BEFORE 60 for wanting to wear a hat.  So I’m not bothered by it.  He looks very nice.  RDJ?  I’m always surprised he’s hasn’t gone the Japanese school boy route, complete with shorts and knee socks.

Downey may be sloppy, but his look has a certain youthful style. Law, just looks horrid. He needs to do something with his hair – like wash it. Cut it. Then shave the beard. Get different pants. I would give him a 2

These are pictures of two very attractive men who are dressed HORRIBLY … there is no love in my heart for either look, but in my opinion Robert looks slightly better than Jude.

I love it when a man wears fashion.

The photos are so funny that I couldn’t care less about the clothes. But I think each of them looks both ridiculous and cute.

T-Lo has blown it big-time! Jude is hiddy from top to bottom. At least RDJr is fun to look at.

My first time visiting here, and right away I’m struck by the incomprehensible fascination with any and all derivatives of the word “douche.”  I feel like a middle school teacher walking past the lockers at afternoon break. 
Jude looks fine from the waist up.  I’m not loving the pants at all, and I do question that choice.  The hat and beard can be blamed on the fact that he’s currently filming Anna Karenina, not because he’s balding, which he has been for years and he’s lived with it quite nicely, occasionally using a small piece in the front…if he wanted, he could wear a piece or two all the time. Men can’t help when that happens, and I appreciate that he doesn’t spray it like Travolta.  He carries a very grownup, accepting attitude of his aging, and that’s sexy.  Anyway, his hairstyle for the film is 19th century, and he’s been hiding it since the filming started in late October, after he finished his successful stage play Anna Christie.  Anyway, love Jude, I’ve actually met him and he’s a very nice, lovely man.
Robert looks okay in theory, but I don’t like the shine on his suit and the shoes are laughable.  Embrace your height, Robert, it’s all good.  Also, although I find him lively and funny for a while, it does start to grate a bit, and a little goes a long way.

really, TLo?! A 9? I think Jude Law looks ridiculous and beyond douchey. Those pants and that stupid hat. I don’t even… As for RDJr, I hate the black shirt/white tie combo and the sneakers but the suit isn’t that bad.

Hmmm, not entirely agreeing either.

I don’t mind RDJ’s look. Yes, he looks like a 80s pop singer and could slot into Duran Duran quite easily in that, but it’s him and it all goes and that’s better than he sometimes manages.

Jude? I wouldn’t mind it all with a different jacket, but he looks like he forgot/spilled something on the one he intended to wear and had to do a last minute switch. If the hat’s there to cover a haircut for a role then so be it.

They both look dressed for their own styles and personalities, which is trickier for men than women (in theory) and they have made some effort and put some thought in. Switch Jude’s jacket and I’m happy. Plus they do look like they’re having a laugh – allthough I wouldn’t be surprised if both of them have little crosshair targets on their corneas that flash up over every female in a 20 metre radius!

But they’re still pretty!

Rob is in an Ill-fitting suit and hilarious shoes, but the even more hilarious mugging and his general good cheer pushes him up to a 7 for me.

Jude Law:  Gorgeous, love the beret, sport coat is gorge, vest, pocket square, scroll, scroll, WHAAA???  What the hell?  Track pants?  In black?and grey?  Can’t even tell what color those are supposed to be.  From the waist up, he’s a 10, but those pants take him down to about a 4.  RDJr.:  Looks good.  Nice suit.  Not crazy about the shirt and tie.  I’d give him an 8.

But I do like the grooming on Jude. Beard- a genuine beard, not patchy or fuzzy. Just a real beard, neatly trimmed. Gorgeous man.

Interesting: Yahoo OMG just named Mr. Law one of the week’s worst-dressed celebrities for the same outfit. And I don’t like when I agree with Yahoo OMG and not my cherished T-Lo. It isn’t right.

ummmnnnn…the rich navy blue blazer on Jude paired with the dark grey trou (with the utterly FUGTASTIC pale grey satiny stripey-thing happening on the outside leg) is making my eyes water and my ass itch, just sayin…and the beanie is not a little on the douchey side, it is the douchey side…all the way.  I see that Opie from SAMCRO has suit separates, who knew?

Seriously, Jude is jaw-droppingly gorgeous when he tries.  This is just….no.

Unlike some, I can get behind a tuxedo stripe on a non-tuxedo pair of pants. But I like the stripe to be narrower in proportion to the width of the pant leg than it is here. And I’m not convinced the color combo really works, though there’s so much room for error in navy/black on a computer monitor, I’ve gotta give the benefit of the doubt.

The beret is douchey, sorry. Flat out. Unless they’re outside in the cold.

All in all, I’d upgrade Mr. Downey a tad & downgrade Mr. Law more than a tad. Though he’s wearing nice shoes, I’ll admit freely, and he seems to have the *concept* of a slightly stylish/mildly irreverent take on red carpet wear down, unlike Mr. Downey.

Downey: 5/10. It’d be 6/10 but he irritates me deeply.
Law: 7/10. And that might be generous.

6/10, combined score. Gentlemen, you can do better & I, personally think you owe it to us, we who buy the tickets to your various movies.

9 is very generous IMO. I dock points, and give him 5, and I’m being generous at that. The tuxedo stripe ruins the pants and the cap for a premiere wasn’t the smartest choice. Plus something about this outfit just doesn’t do it for me, definitely not fab.  Downey I give 6, they should switch shoes. The sneakers totally ruin the suit, while they might top off Law’s insane, not in a good way, look, and Law’s shoes would look better on Downey. Both are lackluster here. A miss for both, but more of a miss for Law.

TLo, as always, you give me something to ponder.  I look to you to teach me your ways.  I think I “get” Law’s outfit, head-on.  It’s the side shot that’s tricky, the stripe isn’t the same color value as the rest of the ensemble.  But as always, I defer to the two sharpest men in Philly on this one:)

That hat is waaaaay beyond “a little bit” douche-y. Jude’s pants are just from a different look than the jacket — it’s not just the color but the cut and the racing stripe…. I think they both look like hell, and they look pissed about it.

Eh, considering RDJ’s other role as man chid with a big iron suit…I give him a pass as dressing like one.  :D Got to have us thinking about the Avengers now and then.

RD, Jr. has an over inflated idea of how clever and desirable he is.  During the press tour for the first Iron Man, I saw him say on more than one talk show how he would get to the set each day and toss the script out the window and improvise his own dialogue and that’s why the movie was a success.  Yeah, right.  And the first Sherlock movie was dreck so I don’t have high hopes for this new one (although Guy Ritchie may have had a lot more to do with how bad the first one was than RD).

Are you guys smoking something? When you said “study in opposites” I thought you mean “study in opposite ways to look equally craptastic.”

Downey at least scores a couple of points with me for having one complete look. It may be Billy Joel’s look from 1982, but it’s a look.

Jude Law looks like he went through the Goodwill box. The best thing I can say about his mismatched, ill-fitting ensemble is that it appears to be clean.

OK, I had to ponder this one for a few days.

Jude: It’s the pants and the attitude. The stripe is too fat for such a skinny cut and the combined effect makes his legs–especially below the knee– look like twigs. It’s that, and the fact that he looks like he really needs a chill pill. But man, can he ROCK the navy blue. Talk about bringing out the eyes. The hat… enh. It doesn’t give me conniptions like it apparently does to some, but it’s not good.
RDJ: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA adorable. I want to play legos and video games with this man. He should have gone the whole nine yards and arrived with his tie around his head like a frat boy.

I’d do both of them. I just want to be in the middle of that sandwich…
