Marni Spring 2012 Jewelry

Darlings, here’s your … we were going to say “sparkly for the day,” but this isn’t very sparkly, is it? Instead it’s bold, bright, colorful and fun with an ever-so-slight mod influence underlying it all. So here’s your fun color for the day, we suppose. Feel free to pick out your imaginary pieces to be worn at imaginary events.

Pretty cute stuff, though some of it looks a bit homemade. I would definitely wear the second to last necklace, probably to dress up jeans and knit shirt.

eek those are some butt ugly necklaces. The only earrings I kind of like are the clear and yellow ones and that is because I like clear acrylic.

    I know. I just WISH they would rock the full mod. Joan did a little with that pink number with the pop scarf and gold brooch, but I doubt she’d wear one of these. I dunno.

As an accessories buyer, I wouldn’t touch these with a ten foot pole. Dated looking, especially those circle earrings with the beads strung inside, and cheap looking materials.

The pair on the model looks very heavy. Of the other pieces, the only ones I might consider wearing are the 2nd pair of earrings, although I avoid the color orange in general.

I am, however, intrigued by the collar that the model is wearing. Is it attached to the top, or is it a separate piece?

Earrings are just too big. bold and plasticy…tacky. (especially the ones modeled in first photo) Helen Roper would love these…

They’re cute. But you can find very similar vintage pieces on ebay, and my guess is that the price will be much, much, much lower….

If this was being hawked in a booth at a craft fair I’d say it was rather nice- but these pieces are overpriced at the hundreds of dollars they’re asking.

Flowers and bright geometrics……..doesn’t get any more mod than that. Pretty sure I owned a couple of those in junior high, back in the day.

SLIGHT mod influence? I have a box of earrings from junior high and high school that are very similar to these, except mine are made cheaply from cheap metal and plastic. I don’t know what I’d wear with these (or the ones I already have), but I like them.

i actually like this stuff, it looks like stuff my mother had in the 60s–if, of course, more modified for the market. right now, though [& i'm sure you dont wanna hear it], it looks like etsy if etsy were around in the 60s. & everyone on etsy had access to high end molding [etc & ect] equipment. that doesnt mean it’s bad, btw, on either side of the equation, just that it’s a style.
