You’re TOTALLY HOT. Your inability to go out in a dress that isn’t:

a) sheer,

b) uterus-length (see above), or

c) sternum-baring,

has ensured that lots of people are reminded of that.

At the rate she’s burning through the sexy-girl dresses she’ll be resorting to taping a couple of strips of fabric to her nipples to hit the red carpet for the 2015 Emmys.

It’s actually a pretty cute little holiday dress. But it’s definitely a “stand and pose” kinda dress. We don’t see how one can forget that a Tonight Show appearance is 95% seated, with the camera right at crotch level. Walking out, she looks great; sitting down, she looks supremely uncomfortable. Let this be a lesson to you, sweetie. You don’t always have to dress like a Prince backup singer, y’know.

I like the dress and think she looks fine. She is young and beautiful, NOW is the time to were the tiny little minis… but dont you think the whole look is too top heavy? Maybe a bolder shoe or… just a little less aqua net in the hair ?

I really hate seeing starlets in these teeny little dresses that turn into tunics the moment they sit down on DavidJayConanCraig’s couch. As you point out, it’s one thing when they make their entrances. They must feel so stupid the minute they sit down. How can they focus on the conversation when all their attention has to go toward keeping their legs clamped together?

        Oh, I don’t disagree. And what’s more, it doesn’t just apply to women trying to make it on the Hollywood scene; we’ve come a long way, but not nearly far enough.

        Yes that is the ubercompetitive Hollywood culture (don’t get me started on that), but I think life has shown us that girls with real talent, who -even a propos- DON’T show their assets, become more appreciated by the public and last longer. So Lea should know she certainly does not need to do it; she actually damages her career by doing it.

Such a terrible styling mistake, and I feel like we’ve seen this exact dress on Lea recently with her Asos and Luca Luca dresses. I feel like it’s time for Lea to get a different stylist because she seems to always wear the same 2 or 3 types of dresses.

She does have that Julia Roberts-type toothy smile which I find inexplicably appealing, but it doesn’t balance the, uh, shortcomings of this dress. I love the colors, and thank God it has sleeves (micro minis and sleeveless don’t work at all save as a beach coverup), but it needs 3-4″ of length, so it hits mid-thigh, and it needs a different neckline. I hate the little strip of fabric across her throat. And I’m not sold on the overall lacy-ness of the fabric–she’s flirting with “granny’s tablecloth” territory. I would have done something different with the hair, too, although I’m not sure what. Maybe a half updo, if there is such a thing? 7/10.

Pretty dress, great hair and makeup, but yeah, for a talk show appearance, this needs a few inches on it.

I don’t watch Glee but I have a friend who is obsessed with the show and this girl is ubiquitous–you can’t escape her. She is on this month’s issue of Allure or something and she is TRYING SO HARD to convince us she’s some sort of Barbara/Sophia/Gina hybrid. It just doesn’t work and it more than reeks of desperation. I know that she is considered talented (I don’t care for her singing or acting) and she should try to remember that. There are some women who are born with a certain “something” that makes them sexy without trying. She is not one of them.

In Hollywood, what matters is how fuckable you are. And she has to keep reinforcing that because she’s most associated with the role of a tight-ass virgin and Hollywood has a very short memory.   To an extent, I think she does. There were stories when Glee started that despite the roles they were playing, Dianna Agron is a really sweet, soft-spoken, flower-child kinda gal, whereas Lea’s a bit of a wild child. The stuff they wear in public certainly confirms that, for the most part.

      That’s a really fair point, at least regarding the word whore. I take that much back. But when it is practically expected of young college girls to objectify themselves on Halloween while the guys don’t have that same standard…yeah, that isn’t what I would call gender equality. If she dressed that way simply because she wanted to, fine. But she complained that that’s how girls in her sorority have to dress to go to the frat parties. I know most of my friends feel it’s the only way to get noticed at all. She looks fabulous, and being a fifty-something I can look back and wish I had worn dresses like this when I could have, 25 years ago (although I am not sure they existed, but I digress). If not now, when? The Leah haters are going to think she appears desperate, and the Leah supporters are saying “go girl.” I agree that the sitting is a little risky but 15 to30 year olds are always sitting in dresses that are too short. It seems like she dresses like she tries too hard to be sexy. It could be that she is trying to counter the high school, virginal, preppy image she has on Glee. In the show, the writers made the other actor’s make remarks about her no-hips and small breasts. Therefore she comes out in tight shirts she calls dresses and heels which looks like its screaming “Look at me! Look at me!” She’s a beautiful girl but I kinda wish she mixed it up a little.

I find it totally ironic that the first blog post in the “You read this you might like these” is your posting about Justin Theroux because all I can think of in these gyno-dresses is that she reminds me of Jennifer Aniston. These dresses seem to, to me at least, add years/decades to her and not in a good way. Kinda smacks of desperation to me. She’s trying too hard to sprint from her character in Glee that she really doesn’t have any character of her own.

Well–the dress is cute and thankfully she’s not wearing big clunky shoes like the ones Miss Breslin was wearing, but still. So short. And then she crosses her legs while in the chair! IDK–I wore very short skirts in the 60s, but it seemed like we’d at least try to be a little modest.
