Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 Collection
Jason Wu took his inspiration from the Maharaja and the fun wildlife illustrations of Charley Harper. He described it as the “regal” collection, which is, we suppose where the Maharaja part comes in. We love the color palette here; the rich oranges, blues and greens, especially. There are times when it seems things get a little too severe, but we the details and craftsmanship are amazing. Love the embroidery and beaded houndstooth. The coats are all fantastically chic, but only a few of the gowns stand out, which is to be a little expected for pre-fall, which has a greater focus on daywear and separates. But that black gown with the embroidered red flowers is a stunner. That’s got Anne Hathaway written all over it.
