Y’all voted her an IN yesterday, but we thought she looked kinda blah. But THIS, kittens; THIS is freaking fabulous. Check out the height on those heels. Miss Thing is gonna be paying for that in about 10 to 15 years, but she’s rocking the shit out of them right now.

And yes, her shoes, bag, nails, and lips all match the dress and each other. We wouldn’t want to see this become a thing, but we have to admit it works quite well here.

      As a fellow pasty white girl (I hear Foreigner’s “Dirty White Boy” every time I say that) I hear you. As far as I can tell there are still plenty of people hating on very pale skin if it’s left au natural. I have read horribly mean comments regarding fair skinned celebs, so I think those that find very fair skin attractive are a very tiny minority. This is coming from someone whose legs would GLOW in the hot Florida sun. My friends always made sure to wear their shades when they went to the beach with me. The glare! For real.

        I’m the same too, I’m pretty sure I glow in pictures. Sometimes I will think that a little tan would be nice, but mostly Asian culture prefer pale skin over dark skin (because it means you don’t slave away in the rice fields for a living), and after seeing people who are orange with fake tan, I prefer my natural skin color over anything artificial.

        Any attempts by me to tan over the years have only lead to extreme pinkness and freckles. Have finally learned to embrace this and have taught my equally pale daughter the same. In turn she has beautiful skin unmarred by years of sun abuse. Pale girls must stick together!

I think matchy-matchy is ok when it’s on a base of at least two colors (especially when those two colors are primary). I don’t know what other color I would add to this. I think the textural differences of each of the reds sets them apart pretty well and keeps it from looking flat. It helps that these colors are rich as hell.

I like that the shoes and clutch have a different texture (or ‘gleam’ if you will) than the red on the dress, so they’re reflecting light differently and in the same neighborhood but not overly matchy for me.

(of course I’m a late-80s early-90s heyday kind of girl…and hell, our socks matched our shirts!)
