Apparently Gaga’s having a Paco Rabanne moment, since she worked her way through the spring collection for the MTV Europe Music Awards.

First, the expected chainmail style:

Geez, you’d think they’d make those things easier to carry. Anyway, the dress is perfect for her, but we hate the eye makeup.

Perhaps Steffi was feeling that this was dangerously close to traditional for her, because:

She looks like a cracked-out supervillain, which, knowing her, was exactly the goal.

  You should look at the spring 2012 collection on style.com. The designer, Manish Arora, looked back at Paco’s 1960s archives for the collection.

Who wouldn’t be stressed out when wrangling a client in an alien hat complete with eye holes, giant aluminum half dress and extra long aluminum pants? The chainmail dress was probably a sigh of relief for Hot Ginger Handler. That memory is probably what he’s using to get him thru the Giant Aluminum Outfit part of the evening.

Hot Ginger Handler looks happy and relaxed because this was the easiest gig he’s ever worked. I am impressed that she manages to navigate through these events with only a couple of handlers to guide and protect.

I’m perfectly fine with Ginger Handler’s ‘bad’ photos – haggard has its own charms. And I’m sure those who’d volunteer to help him with that R&R are legion. Since I’m a tad old for him, I’ll settle for plying him with drinks until he breaks out the *good* Gaga stories.

LOVE that second outfit. It’s amazing. However, I’m going to have to disagree with you slightly. that’s really not a chainmail piece. It’s a disco ball outfit. Chainmail looks nothing like that. The dress looks like the mirrored jacket Chris Lowe wore on the last PSB tour.
