There’s Oscar fever in the air and you can tell which actresses are vying for nominations by how often they’re appearing on red carpets and magazine covers at the moment. Kirsten’s getting banner reviews for Melancholia, so she’s doing double duty; poledancing for the movie and for her nomination at the same time. It’s an age-old Hollywood dance, y’all. Remember how much we were all looking at Natalie Portman this time last year?

But these are some super-cute pics, we must admit. She seems like she’d be so much fun to style. We don’t know why; it’s just that we rarely ever see her styled badly for her many magazine editorials. It’s not that she’s as talented as a model, just that her slightly quirky all-American looks translate well to styles ranging from classically chic to manic pixie dream girl.
Plus she seems fun. We once heard a story that she contacted a blogger who’d written some funny, but slightly bitchy things about her just to tell them how funny she found it.
On a common misconception about her: “Just don’t write the ‘she’s back!’ thing. I wasn’t ever away! Sorry I wasn’t in Spider-Man 4 a year after I was in Spider-Man 3!”
On how changing her hair color attracts a different type of guy: “I attract a different kind of boy when my hair’s red. I get more quality men – like a more thoughtful, nerdy dude.”
On the one thing she can’t resist when it comes to fashion:“It’s Rebecca Taylor: I’m a sucker for a cute dress and I knew I’d be wearing it. I’m the kind of person who buys a new thing, wears it so much and then is totally sick of it. I’ve already worn it two days in a row.”
On having big breasts: “It’s harder to dress if you have boobs. I usually cover them. When you have a beanpole body everything looks cute. Like Alexa Chung. I like her style but she’s really tall and skinny so everything looks good on her.”
On why she hates red carpet photos: “I hate red-carpet photographs! It’s such flat lighting! They take away my cheekbones—I just become a moonface. I hate those photos so much. I always look terrible. And they don’t know angles on faces. There is no artistry to it. I hate them.”
