In or Out: Gwyneth Paltrow in Elie Saab

Oh darlings, thanks for letting your kittens have a chance to scratch at Gwennie.  But I think she looks great and that color is simply gorgeous. No swipes at her here. Happy weekend!

I think the hair is minor.

Aww, I like Gwyneth.  Margot Tenenbaum is one of the most stylish movie characters of all time.  IN.

I hate Gwyneth, but it’s still an IN.

IN!  The color and the cut are both beautiful on her and she looks happy and healthy.  The hair is admittedly tragic but the overall look is so very in.

She’s annoying and I hate visible sternum, but she does look put together and that’s a great dress. In. 

I’m sick of her ugly chest – don’t show us that, please, Paltrow, put that bony, ugly chest away!!!

Edited to add: I don’t understand how anyone can think that neckline looks good on her. Her bones are all sticking out and then she has partial boobs hanging low. OUT!!!

Much as she annoys me, I cannot deny the power of that look. IN.

Damn.  I really don’t care for her, or see her appeal.  But this dress is stunning.  Her hair is awful, but it always looks this way.

The expiration date has come and gone on her hair style (I suspect she has difficult hair, though, and can’t do much with it). The necklace is a bit too much and I’m not a fan of the wide and low neckline. She’s also one of the the world’s most annoying, albeit harmless and well-meaning, people. Even so, she looks striking in that column of sparkling green. IN.

Was this supposed to be an object lesson to teach us that we can, on occasion, be kind and gentle kittens?? If so, it worked, but I feel a little dirty. I think I need some crazy Paz to take the nice taste out of my mouth.

All I can think of is the plastic grass we had in Easter baskets when I was a kid.

I think all of it works together. She is a bit of a plain jane and I’m happy she stays fresh-faced and not over the top. 

i was ready to yell werq too, but i cant get past that shitty fried out flatiron hairdo  the dress is absolutely slamming, but that hair is inexcusable.

I like the color in theory, but on her, it looks like party wrap foil. I want to give it an IN, but something about it says OUT to me.

I understand why people hate her, but I have to give her credit for being endearingly open and honest. The only reason people know she’s insufferable is because she is too naturally genuine to be able to hide it. She really does look wonderful here, too. IN.

I don’t think she needed the necklace, and I hate her stringy hair that she always wears with thousand dollar gowns.

Out. I am not full on hater but she can grate. I am giving her an out because it just doesn’t work for me. Gwen looks like a fish out of water in that gown.

I don’t understand the necklace at all. What is up these celebs?  How often do they need something shiny to finish an outfit and wear nothing. She pairs a giant sparkly necklace with a giant sparkly dress. WTF

Finally the hair … that long stringy limp hair!

Now just imagine Catherine Zeta Jones or maybe even Angelina Joelie in that gown. I think that dress belongs on someone with different coloring to knock it of the park.

IN! What a gorgeous dress. Agree about the hair though. 

In! I have no personal issue with her (mainly because I haven’t been exposed to her), therefore I will neutrally judge her as IN.

OUT.  It’s a fabulous, fabulous dress but it’s not HER dress. She’s altogether too clean and scrubbed. It should be on someone with more natural glamour, say Zoe Saldana or Marion Cotillard.  Also the hair is TERRIBLE and the necklace totally unnecessary.

But then I find her immensely irritating and ridiculous, so maybe I’m biased.

But its GREEN SEQUINS. The WHOLE THING.

I can’t give her an out based on hair alone, but I do hate it here.  Not because it’s flat, but because it does nothing for her.  She needs a cut/style that doesn’t leave it looking like old hay.

IN!  She just needs a trim for those ends.

OUT on the hair alone and posture alone. Have been over it for years now. And the necklace competes with the gown and (ugh) hair too much; I think a bracelet might have been better. But that gown is spectacular and looks good on her.

I am not a fan of hers, but I’m still giving her an IN. That dress really is in one of her perfect colors and the necklace is the perfect accent piece for it. As you’ve already said, the flat-ironed hair detracts. She needs a conditioning treatment or a heck of a lot more product as there are so many flyaways (says someone who also suffers from flyaways).

But, a straight up WERQ would’ve been so unique on the part of T Lo, leaving us to stew in our Gwynie hatred. I however, am not a hater and never have been. I think she looks fab – flat hair and all – so she gets a big old IN from me.

Just….do something else with your hair, Gwen.  For the love of all things righteous and good…just get a different hairstyle.

Yes, I’m a bitter, judgemental kitten, but a fair one. She really looks good in the dress. The color really works on her, and brings her out. Totally IN, but you are correct, the hair holds to back from being a WERQ.

In!  Love the color, love the subtly ’30s feel of it, and the necklace is killer.  For once, I like the straight hair, because it keeps it from going retro, but if she pairs it with another neutral column, we’re going to have a talk.

If people are so pathetic as to get so twisted up in hatred over some actress that has zero effect on their lives then that’s their problem. Some people need to learn a bit of detachment!
Have no opinion on her either way. But the dress is a bit different and looks good on her. Not so keen on the necklace with it, but her hair is just her hair and simple is probably better with this.

Definitely in … Bold, beautiful, over the top and she looks happy.

I don’t like anything about that dress at all — I realize I’m in the minority here — but to me it looks weirdly cheap for Elie Saab, the color looks prom-y, and with her nearly boobless figure she can’t carry off a dress cut down to her belly button that then, to top things off, also has shoulder pads, it’s just too much the silouhette of a football player. 

IN!  Who cares if half the internet hates her?  She looks awesome – credit where credit is due and all that.

It’s a good dress, and, for once, she doesn’t look like she’s sucking on a persimmon.  The necklace is fabulous, can’t tell anything about her shoes, but her hair is pretty boring.

Maybe it’s my monitor, but the runway shots on this dress show a green greener than all the green in Emerald City — and that’s all I could see.  If the Wicked Witch of the West needed glamour shots, she’d wear this dress.  Otherwise, the color is abominable.  On Gwyneth, the green is the shade of sea moss, dark and mottled.  Suddenly, I can see the dress, and it is AMAZING.  And wonderful on her.  (Except for the hair.  Why not a simple chignon, if she wants sleek?)

I’ve never had a problem with Gwyneth, but I very often have a problem with her hair, and this is no exception. That said, she is effortlessly working that dress, so: IN!

It’s an in, though I’d love to see her in something a little more demure, like Zoe S’s green dress the other day.  There’s always something sheer or plunging lately.

IN but I must differ about the necklace working here – the look is sparkly enough.  It would have been a far more resonding IN if she’d instead done tasteful earrings.  That color and that beading is bling enough.

I don’t care how much people hate her, she looks amazing here.  IN.

I stand firmly in the can’t-stand-her camp, but there’s no denying that she’s a very pretty girl. That pin straight hair, though, is really old and isn’t doing her any favors. She’s got a face that would work with many different hairstyles, yet she always shows up with the same old boring hair.
Anyway, the dress. I like it a lot, but I don’t like it on her. I’m not about to ding a girl for having small boobs, but the cleavage on this dress isn’t doing her any favors. I can’t even describe it. It’s just not looking sexy. Also, it must be said: if she didn’t stand there all slouchy like that, the entire look would come together a little better.

I do appreciate the jewelry, though. Very much. Thank you, Gwynnie, for giving us a little bling when everyone else seems to be afraid to deck themselves out with jewels.

But I’m giving her an OUT on principle. Stand up straight, bitch!

Love her or hate her, the genius of Elie Saab has made her look fantastic here.  IN. No doubt.

NO.  1) When did that kelly green color get labelled as “fabulous” because all I can see is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade when I look at it.  2) Her hair is hiddy.  It’s not pretty, it’s thinning, and it’s not in great shape.  She’s too old to have Marsha Brady Hair.  Like her or not, OUT OUT OUT.

I don’t like the necklace with that dress; I like everything else.
