White Cashmere Toilet Paper Collection

Sometimes, a well-written press release and some fabulous pictures are a blogger’s very best friends.

“A stunning vision of Fashion with Compassion™ took to the runway in Toronto at the Eighth Annual White Cashmere Collection on Wednesday, September 28 at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Fifteen established and emerging Canadian designers crafted garments and accessories in 100 per cent pure, soft and luxurious Cashmere Bathroom Tissue, Canada’s best-selling brand, to support the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation‘s vision of creating a future without breast cancer.”

“This year, Cashmere will augment its support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation with an engaging Vote Couture for the Cure™ initiative at Cashmere.ca throughout October. Canadians will be invited to view the collection and vote for their favorite couture. Cashmere will donate $10,000 to the Foundation in the winning designer’s name. Canadians who join the Cashmere Facebook page have the chance to win an exclusive pair of white cashmere gloves created by WCC 2008 designer, Thien Le.”

We non-Canadians won’t be able to vote on our favorites, so we’ll have to be happy just looking at these amazing garments. We really wanted to crack a joke here because come on; toilet paper. But who are we to crap all over someone else’s creativity?

Hey, we gave it a shot.

Marika Brose

”Marika Brose does the dance dress con brio, its sexy, tight, deep-V bodice exploding into frothy layers of White Cashmere pleats and ruffles. Entertainment Tonight’s Angie Smith dons this leg-baring charmer embroidered with rhinestones is so white hot, it could light up a moonless night. Bracelet by Rita Tesolin.”

Carrie Hayes

”Swathes of White Cashmere, tinged gently with pink, swirl around the body in Carrie Hayes’ sophisticated strapless gown. Clearly an extra-special-occasion creation, her full-skirted dress boast “panniers” of pink-hued 3D blossoms and sweeps the floor with a flower-studded train. Butterfly clip by Rita Tesolin.”

Christopher Paunil

”Wedding dress wunderkind Christopher Paunil may be more used to working with silk, tafetta and organza, but he’s obviously now mastered White Cashmere as well. His ruched sheath is a delicate confection with ever-larger pink-and-white fantasy flowers trailing gracefully from one shoulder to the flared, floor-length hem.”

Franco Mirabelli

”Turning her back may be the most seductive thing a woman can do if she’s wearing Franco Mirabelli’s stunning creation for the 2011 White Cashmere Collection. Its back-laced bodice, flirty hip poufs and roughly mini-train – not to mention the peek-a-boo neck ruff – make this strapless gown the derrière cri of femininity.”

Hoax Couture

”Chris Tyrell and Jim Searle of Hoax Couture clearly put hours of work into their exuberantly textured baby doll dress for the 2011 White Cashmere Collection. Essentially a thigh-skimming, strapless bubble of layered ruffles, this is definitely a “dressed-to-frill” creation. Necklace by Rita Tesolin.”

Rita Tesolin

”Toronto jewelry designer Rita Tesolin traditionally works in crystals and semi-previous stones. But her beautiful collection of butterfly accessories proves she can work magic with any material  - even Cashmere bathroom tissue. Her pieces include everything from earrings and fascinator to bracelets and rings. The butterflies are adorned with white crystals, sprinkled with the occasional pink crystal to symbolize the courage and strength of women affected by breast cancer.”

Jason Matlo

”Vancouver’s Jason Matlo is known for his silhouette-skimming goddess gowns. And his sexy sheath for the 2011 White Cashmere Collection doesn’t disappoint. It’s a curve-hugger from the strapless bra top to the knees, where it opens into a floor-length flare – all subtly textured with tiny, hand-stitched layers of luxurious, but strong, Cashmere bathroom tissue.”

José Manuel St-Jacques

”Quebec’s José-Manuel St-Jacques uses White and Pink Cashmere, artfully shredded and curled, for his adorable dress. Thigh-high with a deep V back and poufed cap sleeves, this sexy, whimsical little number is sure to turn heads.”

L’autre Couture by Luko Marion

”One can only imagine the hours consumed in creating the thousands of identical discs that make up Luko Marion’s fantastical outfit for the 2011 White Cashmere Collection. This slinky, fluid costume has the look of pink-and-white chainmail and would surely be appropriate for any modern day super-heroine.”

LIZARES by Brian Maristela

”Brian Maristela, creator of the LIZARES menswear line, dazzles as the first men’s wear designer to craft a garment from Cashmere BT for the 2011 White Cashmere Collection. The dramatic shawl-collared jacket gets hefty braid trim while the macho, ankle-strapped pants have pink tuxedo stripes to complete the look.”

LOVAS by Wesley Badanjak

”The giant pink bow might speak of innocence, but sophisticated allure is the ultimate message of Wesley Badanjak’s 2011 White Cashmere Collection gown. Its strapless bodice and white over-skirt – both carefully piped in pink – with its ground-grazing pink underskirt add up to a sensationally sultry look. Fascinator by Rita Tesolin.”

Philip Sparks

”Playing on the June Cleaver shirtdress, Philip Sparks creates his modern take on this daytime look from hundreds of strips of Pink and White Cashmere BT that have been painstakingly woven into a boldly checked ‘fabric’. The result is madly appealing and thoroughly modern. Fascinator by Mikki Rizvi, purse by Hoax Couture.’

Mikki Rizvi

”Mikki Rizvi of Ever Thine brings her eco-consciousness – and her penchant for glamourously feminine headwear – to this fabulous bouquet of a hat. Made entirely from Cashmere bathroom tissue, this beautiful bunch of pink and white blossoms will continue to bloom long after it exits the runway.”

Richard Robinson

”Richard Robinson knows how to dress a diva. The proof is in the eye-popping evening gown he’s designed for the 2011 White Cashmere Collection. It’s a tight-torso sheath with an asymmetrical, slit-to-there rumba skirt – layer upon layer of languid ruffles – cascading to the floor. If that weren’t enough, it’s embellished with a small garden’s worth of flowers in varying shades of pink. Ring by Rita Tesolin.”

Simon Bélanger

”Simon Bélanger’s pretty prima ballerina frock combines an elaborately pleated, fringed and ribbon-tied bodice and a super-short white skirt. It’s an alluring, ultra-feminine look that would make any woman feel like dancing. Earrings by Rita Tesolin.”
