Male kittens, here’s a perfect illustration of a very unpleasant truth. You won’t like hearing it. Ready? Here goes:

The genetically superior can get away with this look. The not-so-blessed will only wind up looking like George Will or a depressed PeeWee Herman. There. We said it.

We trust that being forced to look at a very pretty man will soften this blow for you. And yes, he should get his hands out of his pockets, but if we looked like him we’d be touching ourselves in public too.

funny, i think he looks terrible. his facial hair is too scruffy and too unkempt for the look, the pants fit him terribly (and the shape is totally awkward), and the colors are blah to the max. plus the bowtie is a hot ass mess. if he weren’t pretty, he wouldn’t be “pulling it off” as he has so many issues t.lo normally reprimand men for ~ and i’m not referring to the whole depressed peewee herman thing. he just looks all around bad, except for the face (underneath all that hair, anyway).

    EXACTLY. not to mention that the suit is shiny(ish) and the tie and shirt are completely identical except one is two shades darker than the other ~ completely bland and generic choices. if someone is going to do menswear, especially a bowtie/suit combo, i think it’s more fashionable to use lots of textures, even if you don’t want to do a wild color palette.

  I agree. I hate the one button jacket and while I generally love bow ties this one is really annoyingly large and pointed – like a grey clown costume. I like the subtle print in the jacket, and I actually think the pants fit very well. But the colors are terrible and the hair cut is boring.

  He looks exhausted. I’m not getting the sexiness when I’m staring at a beard that looks like bristled toothpicks. Especially when his suit looks like it came from The Men’s Warehouse’s garbage.

He needs advice on how to trim his beard; that little fold over of fuzz on his neck is unattractive. The lower line of the beard looks better if if mimics the outline of the jaw (a shallow V pointing up, not a shallow arc pointing down following the neck.)

He’s really cute. And I wouldn’t say he looks bad. But…could be better. The suit is fine. With one button done and hands in pocket, that split in the jacket makes it appear he has a gut. I wish his facial hair wasn’t so long. It looks really rough. I volunteer to find out.

  You know after I got my attention away from that terrifying poster behind him, that’s the first thing I noticed ! I thought “Surely this man doesn’t have a poochy tummy!!” As for the facial hair, I just don’t like how it’s so far down the neck, covering the Adam’s apple. If it were shaved around the jawline he’d look less like a well dressed vagrant.

Very much like the pattern of the jacket with the texture of the shirt & tie.

I find his looks uninteresting, but he’d do fine if you want babies with a high lifetime potential for being frequently photographed.

Nothing about this is working for me, the haircut, the facial hair, the colors or cut of the suit. He appears to be a good looking enough guy, but not enough to overpower what is going wrong here. Also, he appears to have some schmutz on his sleeve.

I think the balance of the rugged guy in the bowtie and slim suit works here. Love the pattern on that suit and the cut of the suit.

I don’t see what’s so hard to pull off here. It’s a fairly conservative suit and you barely even notice the bow tie really.

  I think wearing a bow tie that is a similar color to the shirt was a smart move. Adds a touch of quirkiness but it isn’t too out there.

Another example of pretty being in the beholder’s eye. He’s not ugly or anything .. just very generic looking with a 4-year-old’s haircut and a face in serious need of grooming, eyebrows to neck.

I can accept the scruffy facial hair (although I will *never* learn to actually like it), but he needs to shave his neck. The neck hair takes it from fashionably scruffy to just plain nasty unkempt.

And the bow tie is too small, and the way he’s got the jacket pulling open because he’s got his hands in his pockets makes everything look ridiculously out of proportion.

It’s a shame, really, because he’s a good-looking guy. But sorry, that doesn’t excuse him looking like a hot mess, IMO.

I think even he looks pretty silly trying to combine the twee little tie with the rugged, rambling stubble. I think a bow tie with a slightly less neckerchief look to it might have worked, and I think he’d look fantastic in this one if he’d shaved or just cleaned things up a bit.

I don’t like the big triangle of shirt popping out below the button and above his trousers. Is the button too high and the trousers too low?? At first glance I thought it was a sport jacket with trousers, but on closer inspection I think it’s a suit.
Did he rub up against something?? His left sleeve looks like he leaned against a freshly painted something or other.

He is a gorgeous, gorgeous man, but I hate the fit of that jacket. I just don’t get the too-high button, bare-belly, slightly too-small look.
