  T & L – it may depend on the cable television provider to which the hotel subscribes. Time Warner is one of the major providers for NYC, http://www.timewarnercable.com/, but as I don’t know your hotel’s zip code, I can’t do the digging for you. I can tell you, not that it’s of any help to you in the City, that Cablevision/Optimum Online in Westchester County has Lifetime on both conventional and HD channels.

OMG! I was just in the 25Lusk lounge a couple of weeks ago, sitting on that first set of cushions in front of the fireplace nearest the camera. Fabulous bar, and the restaurant upstairs is incredible.

As far as the show goes, I’ve had a migraine since last night and watching this batch of bumblefucks navigate a group challenge is NOT what the doctor ordered! I’ll have to watch it on Tivo in the cold light of morning.

Not in my book, for what it’s worth. Whether or not two years is still an appropriate time to use grief as a crutch, whether or not the pressures of being on TV cause people to snap, whether or not the pressure of competing for $100K and an opportunity like this can make people stress out, there is a limit to how hard you can use any or all of those things as a crutch to explain your shit behavior. Clinique didn’t cross that limit, he FLOORED the accelerator and rocketed past the fucking thing at 155 mph.

Normally, I cry at just about anything (I’m a new mom so this is doubly true). However, I didn’t shed a tear with Josh, as I was not entirely believing the “I miss her so much” squeak he gave at the end there. I lost my dad at age 32 so I know what it’s like to lose a parent as a young adult. I believe he’s sad, but this whole thing feels too much like BM trying to redeem Josh because he’s been such a douche so far. Ugh.

Word. My mom died when I was 20 years old. It crushed me and I was amazed by how ignorant and insensitive people can be in the face of such a huge loss. They’re designing prints and putting together an entire runway show (including music, video, etc.) in two teams. Team Nuts and Bolts includes Josh, Bert, Becky, Laura, and Kimberly. Their collection is about clockwork. Team Chaos includes Olivier, Anya, Anthony, Bryce, and whoever’s left (I can’t remember right now). They’re collection is, of course, about chaos.

I may be wrong about those teams though…

So far, Josh has terrorized Nuts and Bolts and they haven’t gotten along well. Tim chewed them out.

She’s got the kind of charisma that can only really flourish in the sometimes heinous post-Paris Hilton, post-Nicole Richie, post-Kim Kardashian world we live in, unfortunately. She’s a decent stylist and shady as fuck, and not a nice person. Most importantly, she certainly didn’t earn this win in terms of what she sent down the runway.     Did anyone really think he was going, though? I mean, yes, they want him on to create the intense drama (which I could not be more over), but even Becky knew Becky’s was bad. She admitted that she was hoping the jacket would pull her through, and the jacket wasn’t all that great. Josh isn’t a very good designer, but I do think what he has shown has largely been better than the looks of those who have gotten booted before.
    
    As for the Anya win (talk about a bait and switch!), I sort of felt like Olivier’s pants dropped the jacket down a level. I would have given Viktor the win, but Anya did seem to really pull her weight with the fabrics, the video, and the team unity. Girl ain’t a beauty queen for nothin’. I wouldn’t trust her as far as my scrawny little arms could throw her, but I do admire what she gets done while simultaneously thinking the other designers should make sure she isn’t adding weight gain powder to their Vitamin Water.

Amen to that. You know, I do think that part of this whole competition should also be – who can get along with other people? Who can interact with clients and buyers without flipping out? I realize it’s a design competition, but yes, craftsmanship, sewing, and an ability to get along with others has to figure in to the whole package. I remember in season two, when the finalists met with Fern Mallis, she said words to the effect of “Be nice, you’re going to have to work with A LOT of people in this industry” (camera cut over to Santino!). So yes, while Becky may have deserved to go based on design, Clinique’s design was bad, AND he started unnecessary drama with Bert at the very beginning. And, as Heidi pointed out, with Becky on a previous team challenge. If we’re to take Fern’s advice to heart from one of the earliest seasons of this show, being able to play nicely with others is a huge part of this, and any, business. So I think for bad design – Becky. But for bad design and a total inability to keep his ego in check – Cinique.

Or maybe I’m in denial because I just can’t stand that little bitch anymore!

  He’s not going to win. I do not like his taste at all - and I certainly do NOT like him, a garden variety brat….but he does design clothes. His jacket had more design in it than Becky’s entire entry. There really isn’t much talent in the pool this year – near as I can tell. I didn’t even think much of beloved Anthony Ryan but this week, minus the Bob Evans neck tie, could have won, but Viktor’s was my fave and I will be quite surprised if he doesn’t win the whole thing, as of right now anyway. Bertwill get Wendy Pepper’s spot…Viktor is currently in the Kierra Saun spot (most likely to win) and we have yet to see who the Jay is…Maybe Anya, maybe Anthony Ryan.

I’m so sick of “reality” television being nothing but honoring bad behavior by putting it front and center. Miss MAC Counter is a shitty human being with minimal design skills (“Look, I painted a piece of muslin to look like a tree!”), garish taste, a sneer that could be used to pop a bottle cap, and a sense of entitlement as big as all outdoors. Maybe not even .. maybe (gasp) Linda Evans. And BTW that “fantastic” tailoring looked like crap across her chest and the shoudlers were not joined impeccably. Not bed but NOT deserving the praise it got.

I think the reason that the judges like Anya so much is because Heidi sympathizes with a sister “pretty girl”, and the Duchess can’t resist her fabulousity. That fruit is drawn right to that fly. All of those fruit, really- have you *seen* how Anthony and Josh swarm around her? Anyway, poor Nina gets overruled.

Same with Laura – I mean, both Laura and Anya are good designers, but it’s like the pretty girls that everyone flocks toward. Becky and Bert – the older and dumpier ones – would get thrown under the bus by the popular kids no matter what they designed. I know Bert’s been a problem before, but he’s been pretty nice the past couple challenges, and he sure didn’t deserve what Clinique did to him. I feel that Becky called it right on the spot when she said they’d be pushing for her or Bert to go so it can just continue to be the cool kids club. I think Clinique got bent out of shape with her over that because she hit a little too close to home.

  Laura’s reason for thinking Bert should be out? His “under the breath comments”? What the heck does THAT have to do with who designed what for that awful collection? And on what planet was Bert’s one comment the reason for the failure of that team? I officially cannot stand her. In fact, I like her less than Clinique b/c at least he is straight forward. Laura is just a nasty mean girl. I have yet to see anything impressive from her, design-wise, but plenty of senseless cattiness. Ugggh.

    Laura’s made some things I like, and she’s had some good moments, but I just don’t like her. She rubs me the wrong way. What with the way she’s treated Becky, her passive-aggressive bullshit behavior towards Bert, and her discussing her team with Anya – I mean, what the fuck was that all about – I don’t trust her. She plays both sides as it suits her. She seems very insincere.

They have a huge boner for Oliver and STILL…Even after the Oompah Loompahs statement about tailoring…which was BS… it pulled terribly over her chest ant the shoulder seams were weak and Seth Aaron could tailor circles around Oliver…still even after his mediocre all 2 days Dynasty riding jacket I DO NOT SEE what they love about him He needs a med adjustment…less lithium. hes like a sloth.

Josh makes the worst print out of a collection of crappy prints but he gets to stay because he brings the drama; I may not agree but at least it makes sense in BM World. But WHY did Anya win? Her dress was fine but it was clearly not the best thing on that team–in fact it was the fourth best thing on that team. What is wrong with these judges?

      Okay, I gotta admit that Anya making the best prints and it being a prints challenge makes a lot of sense. By that yardstick it should have been Josh that was aufed. They couldn’t have hated the print more, hated his video, hated his tantrum.

I’m guessing Anya got the win either because (a) other two already had wins under their belts, (b) in some deleted footage, the mentioned that the video was her concept, or (c) they liked her print best. It wasn’t clear from what they said, or from the garments. But hey, give her credit–different top shape! Or they might have taken account of the whole team’s votes. Everyone voted for himself or herself except Bryce, who voted for Anya, making her the only one with two votes from her team.

I can actually see the reasoning behind the decision to auf Becky–that was a bad design, and the fact that she had to make the skirt three times wasn’t actually a plus. I adored her and hoped she’d stay, but it was a bad outfit. Oh, well, I’m back to Team Anya. But two team challenges where Josh had flat-out temper tantrums, plus they don’t like his aesthetic? I’m sorry, I know designers are supposed to be a little egotistical and high strung (loved Kors with the winning team when they all felt like they were being very daring to say “I should win!”), but there’s a point where it starts interfering with the design and creation process, and that’s the line he’s crossed. He’s not going to be able to run a business.

I didn’t get to watch on t.v., but over on blogging project runway, they had screen caps of the outfits. I looked at them without looking at whose outfit was whose, and picked Anya’s for the win. I thought, however, it had been designed by Bert. It’s kinda fun to try to figure outu whose outfits are whose. (I thought Becky had designed Josh’s, for example–). I picked Bryce’s or Kimberly’s or Laura’s for the auf. Just goes to show how way wrong I can be on the auf end!
