Perry Ellis Spring 2012 Menswear Collection
Thank God for the menswear shows. We will always be the type of queen who can wax rhapsodic about a dramatic gown stomping down a runway, but sometimes, a boy just needs to look at cute boys in boy clothes. Especially if a boy (or boys) covets practically every piece those cute boys are wearing (even if said boy[s] can’t quite pull all of it off).
We loved the cool, casual feel of this collection. With the tan and taupe linen jackets and pants, the lightweight sweaters and bermuda shorts, the feel was something along the lines of “Safari in the Hamptons.” Loved the sports coats paired with shorts, the plaids (bien sur), the yellow and beige color combination, and that cableknit sweater above, which we started fighting over before it even made an entire circuit on the runway. Perry Ellis always presents a sort of low-key, casual, masculine chicness that feels effortless and looks great. We always love their runway shows for showing how a man can look good without looking fussy.
Having 20 hot men walk out shirtless at the end doesn’t hurt either.
