Josh Hartnett in SoHo

Normally, we wouldn’t have much to say about Josh Hartnett’s casual street look here:

Josh Hartnett shopping in SoHo.

But it brings to mind an ongoing argument discussion in our house; namely, to cuff or not to cuff one’s shorts. You see, it all started one day when Lo came downstairs with his new shorts, expertly cuffed. Tom took one look, pointed at Lo’s thighs and said:

“Don’t do that.”

“Shut up. You’re not the boss of me.”

Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton, D&G

And that was pretty much that. Tom cannot express strongly enough how bad cuffed shorts look on the male leg but Lorenzo thinks it’s fabulous and that Tom is uncouth and without any style instincts. Josh actually doesn’t look bad with his shorts cuffed, but that could be because he’s so slim and because they’re a long, fitted pair of shorts. Lo approves but Tom thinks he looks a little bit like Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing. We’re both mostly in agreement that the runway versions of the look don’t set us on fire. The cuffs are too rolled and sloppy-looking or the shorts are too big and roomy, or the cuffs have a gingham detail that’s too gay even for us. No, kittens, even in our disagreement we can come together as a couple and declare that this look is not always easy to pull off. What say the minions on this one?

Yea or Nay: The “Nobody puts Baby in the corner” look for men?
