Cover Girl: Katie Holmes for Vogue Spain

Katie Holmes covers the August 2011 Issue of Vogue Spain (photographed by Tom Munro) and works yet another un-Katie-like persona.

We really don’t get this chick sometimes. That’s not exactly an original thought, we admit. It’s a great cover and a great look on her. The thing is, she does these editorials where she looks amazing and gorgeous, sexy and charismatic, but you never see her look or act anywhere near as interesting in what passes for her professional life. She’s dull as dishwater in every red carpet picture and even on the rare occasions when she acts anymore. But man, you put her in some world-class fashion, slap some makeup on her and promise her a Vogue cover and suddenly she’s burning a hole in the camera’s lens. What’s that all about?

If you hadn’t identified her as Katie Holmes, I wouldn’t have even recognized her. Is that really a picture of her? It doesn’t look a thing like her. Perhaps she should stop acting and start modeling–she’s certainly selling the look.

  Agreed–who’d know it was her? Perhaps it isn’t. Maybe, it’s this really talented Photoshop artist…he’s got six fingers and a twinkie addiction and after everyone goes home for the night he pulls out his stylus (it was supposed to be on its way to Warehouse 13 but the truck hit a pothole and it bounced out of the crate), sucks down a Dr. Pepper, and his computer comes alive and models for him, wearing whatever face and dress he’s plugged into his photoshop layers. In the morning, his coworkers come in and find ol’ Larry asleep on his tablet, and THIS on the screen…
