Cover Girl: Mila Kunis for FLARE

Mila Kunis joins that select circle of actresses; those who woke up one day, realized they made a film with Justin Timberlake, and resigned themselves to poledancing across the media in order to sell the results. Let’s take a look at one of her attempts:

Mila Kunis graces the cover of august issue of Canadian fashion magazine FLARE in a Lanvin dress.

On working with Justin Timberlake: “There wasn’t one day [on set] when I didn’t crack up,” Mila tells FLARE. “Justin has become one of my closest friends. We realized we had the same sense of humour, we got along really well and we had the same opinions on things.”

On Her Friends With Benefits Character: “I do relate to Jamie a lot. She’s like every 20-something who’s trying to figure her life out, but is incredibly guarded due to past failed relationships. She’s a really fun, awesome, rad chick who’s scared of a lot of things.”

On Red Carpet Style: “I’m a very casual person in real life, so I do find it very fun to be able to have the opportunity to dress up.”

On Her Guilty Pleasure: “I love bad TV, so if I can just stay home on a Sunday and catch up on my horrible reality shows, with my dogs and my Pinkberry, to me that’s heaven.”

On Her Next Move: “I’ve never had honest time off. I’ve always been reading scripts and looking at projects, so come January of next year I’m going to take a solid couple of months off and hopefully go travel. Like, truly travel. Travel and see the world and experience life.”

How many more of these “friends with benefits” (a term that’s at least a decade-and-a-half old) movies are going to be foisted on the public over the next year or two? It’s like Hollywood producers suddenly found a stack of Cosmopolitans from 1996.

But hey, we got a great cover out of it. Girl can wear clothes, because that dress looks fantastic on the cover and kind of silly on the model. The low-key styling (not to mention the pose) helped a lot. She looks great.

I am always interested in images of Ms. Kunis. She’s beautiful and models well. But I LOVE the runway look for this dress. It’s totally cray-cray fun. If I saw that girl walking toward me on a New York City street I would absolutely want to buy her a drink.

  I just bought a floral head clip that looks like one side of what the model has on. And love that dress. (but like the way the top looks on Mila with her arms out, better) So I guess I agree with you on the look.

Agree on all points.
1.Friends with benefits isn’t a new thing and the movies about it all tend to be stupid.
2. She is working that dress so much better than the model. I’m really starting to like this young lady.

  Not only stupid but more than a little inaccurate as well. It’s always that they’re friends who decide to sleep together and then one of them (usually the girl) falls in love — um, no. Generally when you’re FWB with a guy it’s because you don’t want to date him, but need to get laid.

Honestly, I think that cover is terrible. The color is so 1983, and it does nothing for her. The floppy collar hides her shape, and generally makes her look like she’s in a children’s theatre production, costumed as some kind of flower.

She’s stunning no matter what she wears but this dress in that salmon pink enhances her beauty that much more. The movie and its trite concept, however, do nothing whatsoever for me.

She looks good (as always) and the dress looks fantastic, which I can’t say the runway version did. But (ignoring the photo-editing possibilities) the runway version has to be seen 360 degrees, while the dress on the cover can be pinned and tucked to perfection.

That’s a great color for her, and she has such amazing eyes in her still photos. Which is funny, because I always thought she was a little pop-eyed on That 70′s Show.

  She was a little pop-eyed on the show. I actually found that show annoying but there was something compelling about her the few times I saw it. I now know it was her superb acting skill that she could create that character, her characters since then have all been such a different take and she looks better and better.

i would like it better if they used {what i assume is} the original term: fuckbuddies. then again, there’s probably a more polite term that’s even older but fuckbuddies–that’s one for the ages, there.

SPOILER ALERT:

At first they’re going to be all like “I’m done with romance! Love is for schmucks! Let’s fornicate like bunnies on Viagra!”

And then one of them will be like, “But wait! He/she’s not like the rest of them! But we promised it wouldn’t get emotional! He/she will think I’m desperate if I admit that I like him/her as anything other than a sex object!”

And then the other one will be like, “Ditto!”

And then, through some madcap deus ex machina, they’ll admit their twu wuv and live happily ever after.

I will personally give Justin Timberlake $100 if the plot deviates from this even slightly.

Oh yeah, cute dress. She can make anything look good, can’t she?
