A very blonde Beyonce works some very blue eyeshadow and some crazy Givenchy.

Givenchy Fall 2011 Collection

There’s a LOT of pattern on the cover and because we all have our little things that set us off, we’ve decided to zero in on her nails and declare them a bridge too far. Okay, yes. Maybe the crazy panties are bit much too, but we think the outfit’s fun. And we really like her hair like that. It just doesn’t need to be that blonde. Still, it’s a good cover. We’d notice it on a magazine rack.

Discuss the merits. Show your work. We’ll be off refreshing our drinks.

It’s the lepoard-print bra that carries it over the edge for me. And the seam running up her midsection. If you have to use the animatronic version of Beyonce for a cover, it might be wise to cover up the access panel.

I’m one of those rare people who thinks Beyonce looks like a cheap hooker most of the time, and this is no exception. She looks like she just dragged her ass in from Hollywood Boulevard.

  What most disturbs me, though, is her increasingly blonde hair… Au naturel, Beyonce is a gorgeous gal. It’s past time that she take a page out of Halle Berry’s book and not work it so hard. The ever-lighter hair/skin is getting close to Michael Jackson territory, and she already has moved beyond Jessica Rabbit.

    I agree about the blond hair–I think the outfit is fine for a cover….it’s an eye-catching cover and Beyonce is carrying it off. But the very blond hair is disturbing.

dazed tends to do this: take a goodlooking person, put them in gorgeous clothing, force to the surface flaws the eye would never elsewise even see, make them look bad. i particularly remember a similar alicia keys cover.

i think they do this cos they think it’s edgy. i dont know if it’s edgy or not. i’m not sure that they, collectively, are in the cranial condition it takes to follow this thread to its end, the thread being {ugliness=distinctiveness=beauty}. i’m not sure theyre not. when i bought hundreds of dollars worth of fashion magazines a month, dazed was one of the best.

Dazed and Confused is a British magazine. Supposedly the theme of the photo shoot is “trailer park gone glam”. From Socialite Life website: “Photographed by Sharif Hamza, the music-themed issue’s

The only way i can look this cover is with sunglasses, and still it makes my eyes hurt!!
I mean, yea, every single thing looks fun and pretty on it’s own… But did she really had to wear all that at once, and i don’t mean just the clothes, make up, hair and freaking nails too…even the background looks busy for gods sake. Does she have a scar on her abdomen? I like everything from the waist up and then I noticed what appears to be a…seam, running up her front. But it’s hard to tell if it’s a dangling thread, a scar, or a stick bug.

And someone needs to tell women (it’s not rampant amongst the menfolk) to close their mouths! Dazed and confused indeed…

I thought that Beyonce’s ice cream was a really cool, expensive, detailed little metallic purse (I thought the drips were straps) and I’m disappointed that it isn’t.

I hate Dazed and Confused. It’s one of those magazines like The Face and ID (do you get those in the States?) that puts celebrities on the cover but pretends to be far too unique and edgy to care about them. “Pop vs Life”??? Tres pretentious, non? At least the National Enquirer is honest about what it is.

Love the top, love the eye makeup, love Beyonce.

I thought Kate Gosselin’s hair was not bad on her. It’s better on Beyonce as part of the retro reference the light pink lipstick calls to mind. I think she takes the “aging wealthy fashionable matron” feel out of the print, which is what I think of it on the runway.

Yeah, the nails are ugly and the eye makeup is perhaps stylized to a fault, but there’s nothing wrong here except the crazy panties. Those may be fun, but they keep the outfit from being something anyone but a real attention whore would wear to go get an ice cream cone, unless the stand were poolside.

I love the prints but it’s too bad about that bra. Initially, I didn’t notice it or the silly nails because like others, the dripping ice cream cone drove me to distraction. Plus, the hair, make-up, and expression make her look like a Real Doll which makes the ice cream cone phallic and makes me roll my eyes at the shit some people pass off as “provocative” or arty, or whatever this is supposed to be. Maybe it’s supposed to be suggestive of pornography? In which case, it succeeds as a cover because I looked at it and thought, “she looks like a porno girl.”

It’s OTT, but it works for a magazine. I’m not crazy about that shade of blonde either. I notice the commentary lately about skin-lightening, but I really think that’s an illusion from the hair color. She’s always been light-skinned.

Shoot, I had that same look on my face yesterday after spending the night at Children’s Hospital with my daughter. You cannot sleep in a hospital – it is in the rule book! The only difference is that I didn’t have make up on and we couldn’t have ice cream. Oh, and the only photographer around was me – and there was no way I was taking a pic of me!

She just seems whiter and whiter every time I see her. Blonder and blonder every time I see her, less a beautiful multiracial woman and more just an overly tanned white girl. I wish Bey-Bey would take notes from what her younger sister is doing and rock her natural look, but I know she’s been doing this biz forever, and she’s about to change what she’s been doing.
