Soon to be unleashed on America due to her co-starring role as The Girl in the new Green Lantern movie (because every superhero movie has to have The Girl in the supporting role, clutching her hands to her chest and looking earnestly to the sky as her man saves the day), Blake gets a jump start on the poledancing routine by getting her Glamour on.

“You know, my mom modeled and made clothes, so I always had such an appreciation for design. And then Gossip Girl completely blew open the door to fashion for me. I’d go to fashion shows and call my publicist and say, ‘Can I wear that?’ I think I became my own stylist by not knowing any better. And once I was told it was time to get one, I thought: This is one of my favorite hobbies! And I’m going to pay someone to steal my hobby from me? That’s a terrible idea!”

Blake honey, there’s no kind way to put this, so we’ll be blunt: YOU LOOK LIKE A HOOKER WITH POOR ACCESSORIZING SKILLS 99% OF THE TIME YOU APPEAR IN PUBLIC. We don’t care if it’s your “hobby.” Hire a pro.

“I loved that dress [Versace dress she wore to her first Met Ball], but I am far too shy to walk around in a dress like that with a slit up to my neck. So I thought, The only way I can wear this is to pretend I’m someone else. Who is somebody who completely owns her sexuality? I thought, Marilyn Monroe! So I’m going to be Marilyn Monroe tonight.”

She’s fucking with us, right? “I’m far too shy to blahblahblah?” Who the hell is SHE kidding? The girl parts her skirt on her legs the second a camera gets pointed at her. Red carpet commenters could pick her legs out of a lineup, we’ve seen them so often and in such detail. Her upper thighs can’t go more than 6 hours without exposing themselves to the world. “Far too shy.’ Blogger, please.

But we’ll be nice (from here on out) because the pictures are actually pretty great. She’s styled well and she’s working that lens. Why couldn’t Uncle Karl make her look this good for her Chanel campaign?

I like the ’60′s vibe of the editorial–kinda reminiscent of Julie Christie. I generally think Blake looks pretty shabby, but must admit she looks great here. Whoever styled her did an excellent job. She should turn her hobby over to these folks.

Interesting. These shots are proof that a slammin’ bod and astonishing clothes and styling can’t make up for a face with nothing going on. They’re beautifully styled, but she’s kind of a big hole in the middle. No personality. And she needs to close her mouth.

Even though I prefer Leighton Meester over her (personality wise and character – Gossip Girl – wise), I must say that I do like 80% of Blake’s red carpet outfits *ducks from incoming tomatoes* She’s a pretty girl with a fantastic figure and she showcases it well. I also agree with her about not hiring a stylist. If she enjoys styling herself while saving money, go for it. She’s not that bad as you duo make her out to be. I can name at least 20 starlets who have a stylist and still dress like shit. So why rag on Blake for not having one? The cover is not the best but the editorials are beautiful. She has the face for that 50s/60s style. The only quote that I sideeye’d was the “I’m shy…” No you’re not. You wear short shorts on the red carpet and mini skirts that practically grazes your butt cheeks. Hun, that’s not “I’m shy”.

This is probably the best I’ve seen her look – look others have said. Generally, I’m pretty bored with Blake. Can’t see what the fuss is about. But she does look good in this 60s sort of styling. Sort of like Joanna Petet’s not-as-pretty sister.

i think karl lagerfeld mustve felt, for some reason, that she needed to look like herself in the chanel ads: hence his sub-glamour level of photography.

i do not think, actually, that karl’s was a good idea–i think she is resented by a lot of potential chanel buyers just cos she, looking like herself, so obviously does NOT look like a chanel spokesperson.

Yowza – looking at these pictures I can say unequivocally that Blake is gorgeous. I often find myself looking at her wondering if she’s actually pretty…I mean, she’s clearly a knockout as a total package, but I’m never quite sure about her face. It looks incredible here, though – with the exception of that cover shot (???). The overall effect makes me think that she should probably consult a stylist occasionally, but in general I really appreciate that she wants to do it on her own, because I can see how it would be so much fun to do so. Even if she does get it wrong a lot of the time, at least she’s having fun trying! I don’t buy the whole shyness routine, but I do think she’s playing around, trying to see what she feels comfortable with or can get away with…and at her age, with her body, why not? I actually really like this about her.
