Darlings, let’s taste the rainbow together. We can’t think of a better way to ease into the shittiest day of the week (Tuesdays ALWAYS suck more than Mondays) than gorging on some bright colors. In this case, boys in candy clothes.

Wow. All of that sounds WAY dirtier than we intended.

It’ll take a special guy (fetal, starving) to pull off many of these looks, but we suspect that’s a complaint many of the women in our readership will only knowingly laugh at. We can mentally pick out a few pieces here and there that would definitely be welcome in our closet (PRADAPRADAPRADA), although styled much differently than they are here. And hey, if the young and the skinny want to wear the rest, we’re all for it. But please. We’re begging you. Do not bring back bicycle shorts.

Boys? See anything here you like and/or could see hanging in your closet and/or on your person? And we’re not talking about the models.

It may be because I am old and jaded and usually go for the scruffier kind of guy but these clothes and/or models do nothing for me. The darker blue sweater in #5 is about the only piece I like. The others, not so much.

I like the trend towards brightly colored pants, but in my opinion, big asses and bold colors just don’t mix–so I won’t be indulging.

Some of the tops, however are now on my must-have list.

-I have ALWAYS loved Isse Miyake, and those geometric tops are to DIE for.
-That General Idea jacket is sharp as hell, and I think still has enough classic elements so as not to look too trendy on an older guy.
-The Marni jacket is cute, but I’m not paying a thousand dollars for it, so I guess I’ll just have to pull out the sewing machine and make one FIERCER than that.

Personally I think the average guy can get away with bright colors in a top or a jacket, but not so much in a pant unless they are in an artistic field.

I draw the line at bike shorts and pray to the fashion gods they do not make a return. Like that episode of Modern Family, it’s always the people who shouldn’t that decide to wear them.

Agreed on the bike shorts, esp with the black shoes and socks. it looks like he’s wearing male spanx and forgot to put his pants on over them. I do love all the bright colors. Glad to see some fun colors and styles for men. (the bike shorts also make me think of that Modern Family episode where Cam wears those to work out…)

I like the khaki shorts that one is wearing, I have been looking for some shorts for my husband that aren’t (for the love of Prada) cargo shorts, but aren’t old man Bermuda shorts or aren’t tiny shorts either. In my Goldilocks opinion these are “just right.”

Of course, there are a few items i would purchase and wear. Khaki shorts – check, the jackets – check, some of the shoes – check. But these models? Yuk! This starved, waxed, plucked, tweezed, overly primped look is such a turn off. Not only do my pants not move but things actually retreat in horror!
