Let’s all start our day off with a tall glass of water, kittens. And by “tall glass of water” we mean “hot Swede who’s probably too tall to kiss.”

True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgård is featured in the June 2011 Issue of GQ magazine, photographed by Carter Smith. Alexander? What do you have to say for yourself?

“You walk into the coffee shop, and the girl asks how your day is. When I first moved here [LA], I loved that. I know it’s shallow and superficial and she doesn’t give a fuck about my day, but I still like it. It’s difficult to get to know a Swede. But once you do, you’re in.”

“Hollywood can be like kids playing marbles on the schoolyard. Everybody wants the shiny marble until one kid says he doesn’t. Then nobody will touch it. So it’s important that I make good decisions now. “

“The nice thing is that as long as I’m doing this TV show [True Blood], I’ve got fuck-you money. So I can say no to things. I never want to be in a position where I can’t defend why I said yes.”

Random thoughts:

What’s with the earnest, concerned look in every picture? He looks like the photographer just told him some bad news.

Also, what’s with the tits? Almost every outfit has either a deep V-neck or a shirt open to his stomach. Not that we mind his tits; just that it gets kind of repetitive.

Gosh, he has nice hair. And a ridiculously tiny waist.

While I agree he’s got nice hair, I don’t like the way it’s styled. Reminds me of my grandpa. Not that it’s a bad style, it’s just not…HOT. No man who is HOT in all ways should also invoke thoughts of my grandfather at the same time.

And I’m in agreement with the other commenters in regards to the clothes…too many. Why couldn’t he have been the model for that cover story about bathing suits?

That second picture at the top made me laugh out loud. He looks like he fell off his shoe and is trying to right himself against a piece of canvas. That’s not sexy posing, that’s comedy. I do hope his ankle wasn’t harmed in the making of this photo.

I don’t watch Trueblood so have never seen his naked butt and blondes aren’t my thing, so he doesn’t do much for me. But to each his or her own. I bow to the lust of others on this one.

Having heard all the stories (from Swedish friends & Americans who’ve lived in Sweden) about how glacially distant Swedes are with strangers and even long time neighbors, in contrast to how warm they *can* be, I found it endearing that he enjoys the false bonhomie of L.A., even while recognizing its falsity.

He IS good looking, isn’t he. He’d be even more attractive if his good looks were a tad less classic & he looked less perplexed (I think he was going for brooding but it comes off as perplexed), but they were certainly good enough that I have no idea what clothes he was supposed to be showing off.

  If he looks confused/somber it’s all on the photographer. He knows how to give good “face” because as Eric his face is quite expressive. Of all the actors on True Blood, he’s proven himself the most adept at fluidly switching between subtlety and outright ridiculousness. Every other actor in that cast who’s worked with him always comes off better in their scenes.
