Before we go any further, kudos to stylist Isabel Dupré, because she really made that Marc Jacobs dress sing on the cover – and it’s so perfectly Zooey with the little improvised bubble skirt.

Okay, now. What do you have to say for yourself, Miss Zooey?

On the costumes for Your Highness: “I had so many amazing costumes in the movie. They were all things that I wouldn’t normally get to wear. They were basically medieval gowns. It was really fun like dressing up for a Renaissance fair for a couple of months.”

On her personal style: “I would say fun, girly, whimsical, for sure.”

On dressing up as a child: “I wanted to be really girly… like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I’m still the same way.”

Enough foreplay. Show us the dresses.

SUPER cute! Zooey! Never take this off! What a great idea, pairing that little belt with it. Totally makes the look. The jewelry is all pretty amazing too.

Charles Anastase Spring 2011 Collection [Modified Version]

Lorenzo loves this a little more than Tom does. Tom thinks it looks a little too Florence Welch for Zooey and Lorenzo conceded that point because he’s currently obsessed with Florence Welch. Anyway, despite her sometimes forced quirkiness, Zooey doesn’t look as good in slightly edgier pieces like these as she does the more conventionally girly looks, like above. This is an interesting look, and Zooey herself said she loved it in the video below, but we’re going to have to go with flirty and feminine over edgy with her. Those two pics above are two of the best we’ve ever seen of her. 

 

Maybe because she’s not breathily wailing about the touch, the feel, the fabric of our lives every half hour on our television any more, we’re coming around on her. She seems kind of fun, in a laid back way.
