Yea or Nay: Cuffed Shorts

God, we do love when we’re smack in the middle of the menswear collections. So much juicy stuff to talk about!

Bottega Veneta
You see, poodles, we’re at the (hopefully) tail end of a generation-long period that was all about limiting men’s choices in clothing. Not coincidentally, this period was a form of backlash against the previous generation’s predilection for all kinds of style experimentation and boundary-pushing. That, more than anything is what motivates us. Our desire to kill off the cargo-short, t-shirt, khakis, jeans, polo shirt, striped buttondown uniform that constitutes the entirety of men’s day-to-day clothing choices.
We don’t think EVERY man should wear shorts this short, just like we don’t think every woman should wear a micro-mini. But for those of our brothers whose legs are their best body part – and in our opinion that’s true of a clear majority of men – we will always happily salute any designer who puts thigh-baring back on the table. The latest attempt appears to be the cuffed short, which is a classic that should never have gone out of style in the first place. To hell with the ubiquitous cargo short and the already-getting-tired Bermuda short. We say YEA to all of these.
