Heidi Can’t Touch This
Heidi Klum with her kids and her nanny army out in the West Village, NYC yesterday. Project Runway Season 8 is currently shooting in NYC.
Our take on celebrities and fashion focuses on the red carpet because that is where stylists and designers do their magic to pile on tens of thousands of merchandise on their client. It’s a totally false image and as such, we consider it ripe for our kind of bitchery. We don’t generally do candid, on-the-street stuff because even though they might still be wearing expensive clothes, it’s not the competitive snakepit that is the red carpet. When we see celeb photos like this, it’s not that we don’t have opinions; it’s just that we don’t think it’s fair to apply the same criteria that we would for an appearance at a public event.
So this is not and IN or OUT post, because we don’t think that’s quite fair to a mom out on the street with her kids, even if she is a genetically blessed multi-millionaire. That doesn’t mean we’re automatically struck blind, however. We don’t care if she’s just out running errands, no one gets a free pass wearing dropped-crotch Hammer pants. No one. Although we do like the sandals. And is her hair a couple of shades darker than it normally is or is that just us?
Anyway, this is just a long preamble to the big news of the day, via the Futon Critic:
“Sources close to the series have indicated the eighth season of “Runway” will roll out Thursday, July 29 on Lifetime followed by spin-off “On The Road With Austin & Santino.”
The half-hour series follows the “Runway” alums as they cross the country finding women in need of a fashion makeover.
In addition, “Runway” will now air at 9:00/8:00c and run 90 minutes with “Austin & Santino” following at 10:30/9:30c. It’s not clear how or if “Models of the Runway” will be incorporated into the new season.”
Seems like we may have predicted that one correctly: The extra half-hour of PR is simply MOTR folded into the mothership. We’re not sure how to take that. One thing’s for sure, with the rollout of Mad Men on the 25th and PR on the 29th, the second half of our summer is going to be mighty busy.
You couldn’t pay us to watch that Santino and Austin show.
