Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2009 Collection
Leave it to the fashion industry to decide that there aren’t enough seasons in the year. Last month, Roberto Cavalli showed his pre-Fall collection and Style was on the scene:
“He divided his wide-ranging pre-fall collection into a series of nature-inspired prints in recurring silhouettes. Forties-era suits mingled with silk caftans and sporty nylon anoraks, and there were enough lightweight cocktail dresses for a season’s worth of parties.”
This is downright demure for Signor Cavalli. His work tends to have a more rock-star vibe with a soupcon of slutty thrown in. We likey, for the most part – especially the more structured looks. As for styling, the girls look conventionally pretty instead of consumptive and that’s a nice change. The shoes and bags are killer.
Y’know, it took us a while to come around on the “dark hose” look and for the most part, we have, but we still can’t get behind dark hose paired with a light-colored skirt. It looks too bottom-heavy.
